Dear Thweatts--

We are so sorry to hear of this next obstacle. It is hard to imagine what God's purpose and timing might be--but we draw strength from the fact that we know He is in control. The faith your family has demonstrated and lived through this trial is such a testament. Please know that our family is praying for your family daily.

I am so incredibly sorry to hear about the new cancer cells found and the set-back to the bone marrow transplant. I can't begin to imagine your grief and anxiousness. I wish I had some profoundly comforting words to share, and of course, I don't. Just know that I am praying along with you for Sydney's healing and for you to rest in the Truth you already know!

We are praying for you. Every class period I teach today, we will begin with a prayer for Sydney and your family. I will fast today and will encourage others to do so. During this time of fasting, I/we will launch an all out prayer assault. May the Lord carry you through these valleys.

We are obviously praying for a miracle of healing and grace that we can recognize...but also praying for strength, faith and hope in the midst of times that His ways are not ours. Our prayers are directed to you every day. Specifically this weekend, I was struck by God's wisdom vs. the world's wisdom. Everything you are going through should, by the world's standard, leave you competely flatened and defeated. Yet around every corner, God's strength is availabe and abundantly waiting for you.

In Philippians 1:12-14, Paul is talking about his time in prison: "Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly."

Well, what a true statement about your own "chains". It may not be the palace guard, but it sure is alot of medical staff and families in need... and then think of how many people have courageously and fearlessly praised the Lord, shared His miracles and steadfast love as they may have never done before.

I can only guess how you must feel living through this struggle. I pray that his peace completely covers you and that his love for Sydney overwhelmes you. Praise God, the Creator of the universe, the only One who knows our thoughts and keeps track of every hair on our head has you in his sights.

We are among the legion that have been praying for Sydney and all your family. We are in Colorado now for a late family vacation and spent today working in the Y craft shop on a little item for Sydney, not knowing that she was having high dose chemotherapy at that very time.
