James,
As I read your note today, as a father I cannot imagine your hurt as you watch your little girl in such pain. Know that I am praying for you daily as are many, many other fathers. Even more importantly, know that Jesus is petitioning his Father on behalf of Sydney who is one of his own. God bless you my brother.
Mark.

Dear Sydney, James, Lynette and family,
I pray that Jesus will bless you all in a special way; that He would give you eyes of faith to see that He is a great king who serves us, to see His humility and His majesty, to see His suffering and His omnipotence and to see His humanity and His deity.
How marvelous it is that Jesus is our brother and our high priest!
Hebrews 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying, "I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE." 13 And again, "I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM." And again, "BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME." 14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
We are lifting up to God the requests that you have stated, and we are asking for God to shower you with His grace in all things, especially in regard to the pain and the illness. We love you. May His grace be sufficient for you.

May the Lord continue to be glorified in the midst of all this pain and suffering. I also pray you will feel the uplifting presence of a host of prayers being released on your behalf. Although my heart is heavy...I KNOW the Good Shepherd---wherever He leads I'll go. We stand with you in prayer.

Dear James, Lynette and Family, I am weeping over your most recent writings, wishing that God would grant Sydney some vacation from the pain she is experiencing. I canot possibly know the pain she must be going through, but her strenght continues to amaze me. I find I am now waking up several times a night and praying for her to not have the pain, for all to be well. I admire your strenght and courage through all of this. Your friends and family are all in constant contact and praying for your family and Sydney. I have asked people at my office to add Sydney to their prayer list, so many that don't know her are praying for her now. Thank you for writing to all of us in your time of grief, it is so appreciated. I will be constantly thinking about you as you continue on this journey and hope that along the way good news will prevail over the discouraging news. My love to all, especially Sydney, Patty

We are praying for Sydney daily and fasting for her too with the Providence family.
We have a 5th grade boy, Kyle, at PCS and our girls, Grace and Heather are in high school. We are good friends with the Bryans.

I heard about Sydney from my sister, Shirley Mechem. There are a group of us praying for her here in Southern CA along with one in Northern CA, one in South Carolina, and one in TX (along with your many friends and family). Went to a dinner last night and heard about a man who was told just before Christmas last year that he only had 4-6 months to live due to an aggressive cancer. One year later, his cancer is almost gone and his prognosis is excellent! I pray that this happens for Sydney too!

The Great Healer (from Praying the Bible for Your Children)
"When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake . . . one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." So Jesus went with him. Mark 5:21-24
Dear Lord,
Sydney is really sick, and we're worried about her. At these times we feel so helpless. Please come to her hospital room today, as You visited Jairus when You touched his little girl and made her well.
Thank you for caring so much about little miseries like swollen tonsils and measels and ear infections, as well as life-threatening afflictions. Thank you that You spent so much time healing people when You were on earth (Matthew 9:35). We long for You to do the same for Sydney and the Thweatt family today.
You are the Great Physician. And You ask us simply to pray for healing. Lord, we believe You can heal with one touch, one word; exercise Your power even when our belief falls short (Mark 9:24). We will praise You even before we know the outcome (Jeremiah 17:14).
Give all of us the faith of Jairus, who came to you straightaway. Hear our plea. Heal Sydney, O Lord, and she shall be healed; rescue her, and she will be completely well (Jeremiah 17:14).
This is our prayer today, Father. In Your powerful name. Amen.

We are praying! Thank you for the update. We have been waiting anxiously to hear some word and know more specifically how to pray.
Your strength is an encouragement to all.
Our Lord is Mighty! He can heal Sydney and we pray for him to do so. We pray for continued strength for each of you. We pray for His peace to be upon you.
Nothing escapes our Lord's knowledge and therefore we pray for all the things humanly unseen.
We love you!

I have been praying for Sydney for several weeks now. I heard about her through a friend whose daughter attends Clark High School. They have gotten to know Sydney's aunt and think the world of her for the help she has given them. We attend Hunters' Glen Baptist Church in Plano. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for your family. We will pray daily.

James and Lynette, We are praying for you all. This morning I prayed that God would comfort Sydney in a way that only He can do and give you all you need to 'walk on water' again today. Your family is a beautiful reminder of what it is to be surrendered. With His love and ours, Allison Psalm 55:22

I'm sitting here at my desk, my eyes filled with tears after reading today's update. I'm nervous about showing Daron the email. I have never seen him cry as much as I have since Sydney became ill. He sheds tears not only for Sydney, but for James as well. He respects and adores his friendship with James. If Daron could take away some of James, Sydney's and your pain Lynette, he would be there to do so in a minute. We send our love, hope, and prayers to you. Valerie and Daron

Lynette wrote: "We realize it is difficult for you to be part of this." Oh precious Lynette, I love you BUT how VERY wrong you are on this point! There is NOT ONE person alive anywhere in the world who knows the name of Sydney Thweatt who does not count it a PRIVILEGE and BLESSING that you have opened yourselves to us and ALLOWED US TO BE A PART and STAND BESIDE YOU. Let me help put this into prespective for you - like the times when you ACHE and feel TOTALLY HELPLESS to aid Sydney, so WE (those you have allowed to"be apart of this")FEEL ABOUT YOU and your Family. Lynette you heart and mind are focused where they need to be so you cannot know how much all of this has BLESSED each and everyone of US as we have all drawn closer to GOD and matured in our relationship with our Lord and SAVIOUR Jesus Christ. It is NOT HARD nor DIFFICULT to stand with you. ACTUALLY it is an unspeakable HONOR and JOY and IT IS the VERY THING GOD has ASKED us to do. For as we "BEAR ONE ANOTHER'S BURDENS, SO WE FULFILL THE LAW OF CHRIST JESUS."(Gal.6:2) Lynette said: "It would be so much easier for you go about your own business and not endure the pain with us." Again, precious one that is where you are wrong for "we are all ONE BODY" - We are THE BODY of CHRIST JESUS and "what happens to one its His members, happens to all of us. "So our precious one, rest in the arms of HIS love which reach out to you, draw you near and HOLD YOU CLOSE, for WE "are HIS arms," and what we "do" is nothing compared with the joy of serving Christ. With all our collective hearts we say THANK YOU and GOD'S MULTIPLIED BLESSING BE UPON SYDNEY,YOU and JAMES for the honor to serve God through you. We LOVE YOU & continue to be your "Joshua," holding up your arms, until the VICTORY IS WON and we all cross over into the "Promised Land"
