Hi Lynette,
I've been sitting here trying to think of some great words of encouragement but it has just made me realize that lately when I need encouragement, I've been turning to the updates from you and James! I have written down a couple of bible versus from your updates that I have pinned up by my computer and one in particular I try to keep in mind all day is Proverbs 3:5-6 GÇ£Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.GÇ¥ I all of a sudden feel very selfish for turning to you for strength in my own life, especially when my challenges are so tiny compared to Sydney's, but I hope you realize how powerful your messages are and the affect your faith has had on all those following Sydney's illness. I predict, and hope, one day your messages of faith will reach and affect the lives of millions of people!

My family has been continually praying for Sydney, you, James and the boys and you are all constantly in our thoughts. I pray that Sydney is healed, that the pain rapidly diminishes, that her body continues to fight back and regain strength and that she continues to endure the battle inside her. I pray that you and James continue to have faith and be blessed with the supernatural mental and physical strength you've been surviving by month after month. The words of encouragement that keep coming into my mind is something my dad always said GÇô GÇ£Keep fighting the good fight!GÇ¥ -- and that definitely seems appropriate right now! You are an amazing family and I hope to see you all together in Dallas one day very soon. Much love, Molly

Your sweet friend Susan Esco alerted many of us at Crossings Community Church in Okla. City about Sydney. I have been praying for her for about 9 months. All along I have been praying for the blood of Jesus to cover her and a hedge of protection around her. I think the thing the Lord keeps bringing to my mind is the blood of Jesus....there is a song "There is power, power wonder working power in the blood of the lamb. There is power, power wonder working power in the perfect blood of the lamb." Those may not be the exact words, but I think you get the idea of the song and the strength of its' meaning. I know Sydney has had her set backs, but don't be discouraged. Keep your eyes focused on the lamb, he loves you so. In His precious name, Cindi

I pray God will deliver Sydney from the illnesses and that He may be glorified in all situations. Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power! Below is a very helpful resource from Purpose Driven Life that I renew my mind with regularly and pray you'll find strength in God's word. Actually April 30th's is very good but I couldn't find it!!!

A long, thin line
by Jon Walker

GÇ£We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen. The things which are seen are temporal and the things which are not seen are eternal.GÇ¥ (1 Corinthians 4:18 NIV)

When life begins to squeeze us, what we truly believe is revealed through our attitudes and actions.

And, if the truth be told, most of us live by sight more than by the hope and certainty of our faith. It's as if there were a long, thin line threaded throughout the realm of reality that divides the seen, the temporal, the things surrounding us, from the unseen and eternal. Shoved by our circumstances, we become distracted from the eternal and focus below the line GÇô on those circumstances.

But God tells us repeatedly that we're out of focus when we're looking below the line. As Christians, our focus should be above, on the unseen, eternal kingdom of God. That doesn't mean we should deny or repress what we see happening around us, but we must also be led by the Holy Spirit to look beyond the seen and temporal into the unseen and eternal.

You can see references to this line throughout the New Testament. As people approached Jesus, talking about their circumstances, he would say: GÇ£You're looking for bread, but I am the living bread. If you eat of me, you'll never go hungry again. You're looking for a drink of water, but I am living water. If you drink from me, you'll never thirst again.GÇ¥

We can't trust what we see, and when we're focused below the line, we become trapped into thinking that what we see is truth. We become prisoners to our perceptions. Time and time again we see Jesus moving the focus from the seen to the unseen, from the temporal (the temporary!) to the eternal. He knew that for those who walk by faith, appearances are never the ultimate reality.

Are there parts of your life that have you discouraged or depressed, that have you wondering where God is? Consider this gentle reminder that God is present, even in the midst of your confusion and pain. He's tapping you on the shoulder, reminding you to look up beyond the horizon into eternity.

So what?

-+ You can't trust everything you see GÇô God, Jesus, and heaven are reality, even if they are unseen for now. The things we see are temporary; the things we do not see are eternal. (1 Corinthians 4:18 NIV)

-+ Put life in perspective GÇô Realize that your emotions will fail you, and stop allowing them lead you. When your perceptions begin to take you down a depressing path, challenge them. Could there be another way to see? To feel?

-+ When you become discouraged GÇô Stop and ask God, GÇ£Am I seeing this situation through your eyes, or my own?GÇ¥ The Message paraphrase renders Colossians 3:2 this way: GÇ£Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ GÇô that's where the action is. See things from his perspective.GÇ¥

Dear Sydney and family,
Our family is praying and fasting for you. Blessings, The Featherstons
Psalm 77:10-f Then I thought, to this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most high. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. 2Chronicles 20:3-4, 6,12
O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you... we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do , but our eyes are upon you., vs 15, 17 Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's...You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you. (2Kings 6:15-16) And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do? Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them... and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. Psalm 77:10-20
scripture taken Joni Eareckson Tada's book Secrect Strength.

Lynette,
I was reading in Isaiah and praying for Sydney-

Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. ISAIAH 41:10

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying
"This is the way; walk in it." ISAIAH 30:21

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run, and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ISAIAH 40:31

We are praying for the Lord's comfort and peace for Sydney and His strength for you.

Hi Sweet Lynette,
Today during prayer at Providence, the Lord reminded me of the words of Psalm 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the LORD.
__________________________

It's all about how the Lord puts a new song in us so that others will trust in Him. I will be praying that you, dear Lynette, are filled with the Lord's patience so that you can continue to draw others to Him.

Amen! Praying, Praying with you!

Wendy

My little girl, Mary Lou, and I pray for Sydney every night - for her total healing and for many opportunities for her to share her Healer with people she will encounter as she grows and matures. I am praying with great expectation!! Love, Alice

The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd-
That's Relationship!
I shall not want-
That's Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures- That's Rest!
He leadeth me beside still waters- That's Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul- That's Healing!
He leadeth me in the path of rightousness- That's Guidance!
For his name sake- That's Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death- That's Testing!
I will fear no evil- That's Protection!
For thou art with me- That's Faithfulness!
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me- That's Discipline!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies- That's Hope!
Thou anointest my head with oil- That's Consecration!
My cup runneth over- That's Abundance!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life- That's Blessing!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord- That's Security!
Forever- That's Eternity!

Sydney and Thweatt Family,
We have been reading through the latest news and hearing through school about you. We are praying for you Sydney and your family. Continue to trust in the Lord and remember Jer 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, Plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

This verse keeps me moving everyday, everytime I think of Sydney I think of this verse. There must be a purpose in all this turmoil and one day God will let you know! Just remember this is all part of His perfect plan for Sydney and your family!!!

Psalm 20

1May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
2May He send you help from the sanctuary
And support you from Zion!
3May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah.
4May He grant you your heart's desire
And fulfill all your counsel!
5We will sing for joy over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
6Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
7Some boast in chariots and some in horses,
But we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God.
8They have bowed down and fallen,
But we have risen and stood upright.
9Save, O LORD;
May the King answer us in the day we call.
Lynette, we are calling out to the Lord on Sydney's behalf. God is faithful and He is the only one that has absolute authority over all things. Lean hard into the arms of God and rest in Him. We love you all.
