Breaking Weather Report . . .
It is snowing in New York -
big healthy white cells.

After hearing the miraculous news that Sydney had some white cells we rejoiced and called all of our family that is in town and got them in one room. They called us at the hospital. Sydney was asleep. We put the cell on speaker and everyone prayed and thanked God. About halfway through Sydney aroused and in a cranky voice said "turn that thing off". She is just like Lynette. Just kidding, I am afraid that is a clear resemblance of me. (James)

Anyway we couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present. We are all on cloud nine. We are so incredibly thankful for God's miracle in Sydney. "His mercies are new every morning".

We were a little anxious about a CAT scan she was having yesterday, because the test for fungus has continued to come back positive. The expectation was that the fungus would grow and could be a dangerous threat. The CAT scan was used to see what was really going on. The scan came back unchanged! The fungus is still contained in the area it originally had been. Thank you Lord! The doctors were very pleased and amazed.

We are saving Christmas until Sydney feels better. She said she didn't want to have Christmas yet. So our little tree and nativity will continue to decorate the room until she is ready to celebrate. Sydney is sleeping most of the day lately. She wakes up around dinner time, however she will not eat. She doesn't realize how well she is doing. She just does not feel it yet. Her tummy is her main source of pain and they now think it may be her bladder. We will try a new medication that may give her some relief. It also helps that her white count is continuing to increase and her immune system is on the rise. This is very good news!

We will continue to tell her how well she is doing and remind her that the angels are all around her. She commented last night that she doesn't feel them or God sometimes, especially when she is in pain. I have to admit with her sleeping so much and having so much pain, we have resorted to Andy Griffith to distract her more than Bible Stories. I am urged to get back to our routine of reading Bible Stories. It also helps me. I am so easily distracted by things like CAT scans or even my next meal. I desperately need God's perspective at the beginning of the day. It makes the fight a steeper climb the later I wait to call on Him. It takes determination, even in this hospital room, to not let other things take my focus away from my time with the Lord.

We look at Sydney and see God's sustaining hand. We are forever grateful for the prayers and time you all have spent in prayer for Sydney. Our strength continues to be renewed (Isaiah 40:31). And we can truly say: "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you (us) will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:2-6)

Love in Christ,

Lynette and James
